Arne R. Pedersen, MBA, FACMPE
R. Arne Pedersen, MBA, FACMPE, is President of HCM, a Healthcare Leadership and Management Consultancy. Mr. Pedersen is also a Fellow with the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE), a distinction among peers in the Medical Group Management Association. He has a passion for customer alignment, delivering customer value, and employee economic value added with a mission first – people always philosophy. His career path extends across a variety of industries, roles, and functions in both Corporate America and the United States Army. Prior returning to his role at HCM, he served as a Vice President of Practice Management at the largest anesthesia billing and consulting company in the United States. Prior to joining the anesthesia billing and consulting company, he served as the Executive Director for a very large Independent Anesthesia Practice in the Midwest. Prior to joining the Anesthesia Practice, Mr. Pedersen served as the President of HCM (a national provider of Healthcare Leadership and Management Consultancy).
Mr. Pedersen also worked for Anthem Inc, a Fortune 50 company, in a variety of roles including strategic sourcing, e-Business, and new product development including teams that developed and rolled out the HRA and HSA, products. During his tenure, Mr. Pedersen designed, developed, implemented, and managed a multi-million-dollar strategic sourcing program, which consistently delivered high quality resources and saved the company over $90MM in eight years.
Mr. Pedersen was a highly decorated commissioned officer in the United States Army and has served in various Command and Operations staff roles over a highly successful ten-year career including earning a Bronze Star Medal while commanding a tank unit in the 1990-1991 Gulf War (Desert Storm). Mr. Pedersen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University earning distinguished military graduate honors and his Master of Business Administration, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
